My World Tuesday/Outdoor Wednesday

Cats of the world unite,
Do you see cats taken out to barbecues?
Do you see cats taken out to the beach?
Do you see cats taken out to the park?
Or to the Bridge opening last Sunday?
Of course no!
But you know what,
We cats, don't need anyone to take us out.
We cats, can go by ourselves.

I LOL to myself when I see dogs being man's best friend.
I LOL to myself when I see cats by themselves.

This cat was seen wandering to the local rugby club. Come next year, we will host the Rugby World Cup in Auckland. May be the fans will frighten the cat away.

  1. LOL! Yes, cats can indeed take themselves out! They are very self-sufficient.

It reminds me of 'The Cat Who Walked by Himself' by Rudyard Kipling.

  2. I think the cat will be very happy to have some fans there.

  3. I do love the uncomplicated ways of the New Zealanders. More down to earth and easy going. I think the way they are perfectly compliments to their serene and tranquil beautiful and natural environment. So well taken cared of. Very clean too as in the case of these pictures. Love the bonus picture of the cat.

No, I never live in the northern shore. Too push I can't afford. I only took the picture while on board a ferry.

  4. I love this poem and your thoughts. It is so good, whimsical, funny, but with truth to it!! Dogs are pack animals, but cats are loners. Yes, cats of the world, UNITE!! I love it, it works on so many levels!!

  5. Hi Ann,
Interesting poem, I love cats, so I can really see a cat thinking the words of the poem. Nice photos.

  11. HI
Not a big cat person myself..but there is a cat in our neighborhood that takes himself for a walk....right near his own house and follows everyone until they talk to him or pick him up....he is shaved like a lion with a big mane and a poof on his tail, HE is beautiful! I do like him!

  12. Guess that's why I'm a dog person. I don't want to be at the beck and call of a feline. I much prefer the unwavering loyalty of my pooches...
