Save the world: Catch your quota

I went to Whatipu and went among the rocks where there were some brave hearts fishing in the rocks. This is a form of extreme fishing. The waves are very strong as they pound against the rocks jutting out towards the Tasman Sea.

There is a quota and the size limit that these guys are allowed to catch.

Unfortunately, often fishery inspectors find people catching undersize fish and over the limit. If every one does that, the sea will soon be depleted.

Addition:
Ginny is right. The fishery officer can confiscate your fish, impound your car, fine you or give you a warning.

I don't like people fishing ! It's just like hunting, I hate that too. If you click on the link for Panetone in my post(that's the Italian word)it's explained what it is. It's not bread at all, there is vanilla in it and it is sweet.

The fishing inspectors can be very strict and impound your car and all kinds of fines!

The pictures are wonderful. Some people love fishing, but I do hope they do not get greedy.

Some people release the fish back into the sea after getting them on the hook but I think it is better to let them swim freely in their own world.

it's better to follow the rules for the benefit of all...interesting, it does show discipline.

The fishermen do look brave fishing from those rocks. Your pictures are great. I hope people who fish will abide by the quota.

Very smart. Fish need a chance to grow big and reproduce in order to keep nature balanced. Did you catch any fish on your trip?

It's very responsible fishing...cant say much about here though.
