ABC Wed letter S for seasons.

Auckland's wet weather is brought mainly by its next most frequent wind, the north-easterly, and the rain that it brings from the subtropical high pressure belt is relatively warm.

The downpour can be torrential and brief, a relief from the clammy humidity that commonly precedes it. The dark passing storm cloud is likely to quickly give way to another burst of sunshine, the fabled "four seasons in one day".

In my book, "The Playgroup Club," I wrote about four seasons in one day. Today is one of these days, I hung my laundry and had to bring it in again

Hi Ann,
we've had weather like that and the autumn is very
slow to appear, but it is getting rather cold, so
I suspect winter is on our doorstep,
I hope you managed to dry your washing.
We've
recently invested in a huge clothes airer, so
it is very useful,in poor weather, to hang the washing
on it in our conservatory, where it is always warm,
therefore a most useful place to get the washing dry.
best wishes,
Di,
ABCW team.

That's an interesting article, Ann. At one point your weather and climate reminded me a bit of our part of California. We really have 2 seasons: Cold and dry with some rain. Hot and dry. Fortunately, there's a pass in the range between us and the ocean to allow the fog to drift in and cool us so it's not so hot too long.
