With the devastating earthquake in Christchurch, I have no mood to take any photos. These two are from my archives. The first is symbolic, firemen came to my school and spoke of this toy dog that they almost rescued from a fire.
The other photo was taken when my nephews went to look at a mother hen laying eggs. Eggs mean life. Christchurch is down, but she will bounce back. She will bounce back with the help of other New Zealanders and the hundreds of International helpers.

February 25 - From the Hip! That's right. Taken from the hip. Walk through a store or park or main street with your camera on your hip, shooting away!

I love the second shot - really good!
Very good photos!
We are all thinking about the folks in Christchurch who have lost so much. Such devastation is hard to imagine.
My heart goes out to the people of NZ. I read the papers and watch the news daily for any updates they have , just half an hour ago, I watched the interview of 2 female Singaporean who survive the earthquake and finally back managed to get on board a flight back home.
I thought of you when I heard about the earthquake. Glad to hear you are okay and so sorry for the devastating effects for so many!
I'm also glad you were able to post for this FSO. Your archives served you well! Thanks for visiting my Hip Shopping Trip. The produce section is one I visit often...love it fresh! Take care!
What a terrible catastrophe in Christchurch this week, so many lives lost. Glad you and your family are ok.
Our hearts are with all in NZ..such a scary time for everyone there!!
Your photos are wonderful..I love the chicken picture!! Wonderful shootout hon, Sarah
It is a really good idea for firemen to use stuffed animals as examples of fire safety.
I know what you mean, I felt the same way. Didn't seem right to go out and take photos of our beautiful country while others are suffering so much in Christchurch. I'm visiting a dear friend in Whangarei Hospital tomorrow, will take an extra bunch of flowers for the patients from Chch.
Love the photo of the child and the chook!
I'm sadden by the tragedy!
Ann, I think your first photo is somehow relevant to Christchurch. The second picture is good as I think it is good for children to learn about nature first hand - like this, watching the hen lay an egg - Dave
Hi Ann, we are so sad to see and hear about the devastation in Christchurch.
My grandchildren are fond of all kind of animals. My daughter teaches them to be caring and loving to all animals and plants.
So you haven't heard from Marja either? I am really worried. If you hear from her will you please tell me?
Ann,
I hope you and your family are unharmed by the devestation in Christchurch. The whole world is holding New Zealand in our hearts!
Yeah....the Foochow lady Sandra Hii is still missing....I was in Sibu when we heard the news of the earthquake...
when I heard of the earth quake I thought of you and Pauline and wondered if you lived near or not. glad to hear you both are ok. still great shots you posted Ann.
Nice shots, I love the second one of your nephew and the hen. It is really sad to hear about people and the damage of Christchurch. My prayers go out to the people of NZ.
