My world Tuesday: Auckland Sky Tower

This is the iconic structure of the Auckland, the Sky Tower. It is the tallest sturcture in the Southern Hemisphere. It houses a casino and a hotel and many restaurants. Once we had gales winds and the tower shook. One can only imagine how it will shake if it was built in Christchurch.

Tall buildings are very scary in any kind of storm!! They say that they are made reinforced so they are earthquake-proof, but I don't know how that can be done.

Hi Anne,

This tall tower is a little bit similar to KL tower here. Except we only have restaurant and skyview for visitors..don't have casino. Must have nice view on top...Usually, gorgeous view of the city. But, it may be scary at times too especially during earthquakes or natural disasters.... I couldn't imagine how it would be like if it is in Christchurch..it would be awfully terrible. Hope you are fine.. and the people at the beautiful town of Christchurch too...

I really think that politicians and other leaders should not build too many tall towers....We are testing the elements!

Of course I am prejudiced because I have been afraid of heights all my life.

but the tower is really a lovely sight!
