Our friend Bernard Bell was a marvelous person. When we first met him, he was already in his seventies and was performing free magic shows to children all over the world. A Friend invited him to perform to the NTU children. Since then, he became our very good friend, and when ever he came to his Singapore leg of his world tour, he stayed with us. I arranged for him to perform in schools.
My girls loved him and came to treat him as our Enlish cum Kiwi Grandpa. Originally from England, he chose to live in New Zealand. He always sent us a Christmas card.
During the year 2000, we went to NZ. Came to his house in Huntly. Nobody answered the door. A nagging feeling told us he might have past away. We left a note in the letter box, we didn't hear anything.
