After accepting the peace token, the guests enter. A group of school children follow the Governor General and Mayor. Last to enter was a young mum with two young children in their pushchair.
The women sing and dance as they welcome the guest. The words Haere mai, Haere mai , Haere mai/ Welcome ring in my ears. I felt a lot of Aroha/love shared.
