This is very commendable of the Iwi/tribe of the Orakei Marae. The Ngati Whatua O Orakei allowed the building of this playground through their tribal land so that the public can enjoy it. This project was a joint venture with the city council.
Ka Pai/well done to the Ngati Whatua O Orakei for their generousity, and Ka Pai /well done for thinking about the special people with this special swing.
The Chief Te Hira gave a speech on how all the beach was once upon their home. I am proud to have an association with them.
