Like all institutions, there is an office where you have to go before you visit. The marae is a private property and you just can't simply wonder around.
Hi Ann, nice blog you have and well taken pics. I read your comment at Adirya's blog re your mention of old days using bamboo for toilet paper?
When I was 7 years old I had to earn my pocket money...cutting old newspapers using a 5' x 6' template, then poke a hole at a corner using my mum's knitting needle, then tie it to our those days squatting lavatory.
You can imagine the panic, the yells when I had forgotten to go to work on these paper cutting, instead went fishing with friends at a nearby river.
The lectures I got from my mom, she doesn't take any prisoners even though I was her only son... sure caused buzzing sounds in my ears....as well our house status symbol was a 3' long cane.... human rights like TV unknown yet.
You have a pleasant week and keep a song in your heart, best regards, lee.
Been there already Ann, to Taupo and Rotorua we went.
Alas, we were caught by the snow fever but never been too close to touch even the tiniest particle so I was a bit disappointed.
New Zealand is a beautiful country: neat, clean and green. Reminds me of Singapore by my impression from the outside though we were only until the airport there.
I took a thousand pictures inspite of time restrictions. I brought home a mild flu but I guess it was only a jet lag. I did not know that New Zealand is the boundary of the International Date Line.
Needless, like you said, we just can't go anywhere without going to the proper place. Protocol enforced. :)
