KIWI-A-THON
My school, Pt Chevalier Primary School in Auckland organised a PTA Kiwi-a-thon. It is a like a spelling bee, children had to learn about New Zealand general knowledge facts like the Beehive, the buzzy bee, the Kiwi bird, the silver fern, weta, pavlova , jandals etc.
The response was amazing. The children had done a tremendous job learning the answers, and collecting all their sponsorship money. The PTA worked very hard and I could see many parents busy collecting money and recording. They raised more than $10,000. This is an incredible amount as this is a state primary school.
There are winners of great prizes and the top fundraising classroom get to watch a video and eat some yummy popcorn!)
The money raised from the Kiwi-a-thon will go towards the new Soundfield Systems.
