Don't throw that trash on the ground.

At Rodney county at Omaha beach. This is such a beautiful sea birds sanctuary. It will be so sad if trash is thrown and swallowed by the birds.
"Where's the trash can?  A giant one that compacts all the trash.
I was curious with these bags of trash hanging on the electricity pole at Omaha beach. A local told me that this prevents dogs from getting into the bags a littering every where, and ending at the bird sanctuary. What a great idea, not very aesthetic or tastefully looking, but who cares.

According to the 40th anniversary book, this was Jim's last performance of Ernie for the show.

It is so shameful that people can't take the time to put their trash in a can, it isn't that difficult. The bags on the pole may not look good but like you said, if it keeps it off the beach who cares.

I don't get why people are sometimes so dirty, and here in Spain the problem is huge. Seeing someone throwing something in the street when they just have a litter can meters from them, annoys me to no end... Sometimes I even tell them to pick that thing up (but not always!).

Very nice use of the theme song and a cause! What a wonderful world it would be if people just picked up after themselves everywhere!

What gets my mood all riled is when I see the trash pickup trucks - the huge dumping trucks that go to the curbside and pick up trash from the homes' bins and as the trash is being dumped into the huge trucks...refuse is blowing away all over the neighborhood.

Great post Ann.

Never if I live to 100 will I understand why anyone would throw trash on the ground. Can you imagine how trashy their home must be.

It is a very good idea! Especially with the plastic rings that soft drink six packs come in, people throw them on the ground and they strangle the birds.

I really don't understand why people litter. Do these people toss trash on the floor of their home or in their own yard? Probably not! So I don't understand why they think it's okay to toss rubbish out in nature. It's so dangerous to wildlife. And, if it makes it's way into our water system, it could potentially be dangerous to us as well. Thanks for this post and the reminder to pick up after ourselves!
