Orewa beach

We try to make the best of the remaining warmer weather. We go out every weekend before the wet cold winter sets in. Just in case you are wondering why i am talking of the cold now, it ia because New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere, and our weather is opposite of the North.

Auckland is good, we are never too cold. Last weekend, we were at Orewa beach, the swimmers were gone, but there were lots of catamaran banana boats, surfing, kite boarding, and there was even a paddle surfer. The photo is grey, this is because the weather was windy and wild.

This post is specially for fellow blogger seethroughgreen. New Zealand has a whole lot of fun activities in a small bottle. We have met many tourists from all over the world, and they love it.

This weekend, my twenty year old daughter G and her friends crossed the Tongariro. Now, if Sam does it this summer, there is only me who hasn't done the crossing, and the pressure is great.

Thankyou for taking me again on a trip on your wonderful island. The crossing of the Tongariro looks very difficult. Thanks for your visit and kind words, Ann!

Hi Anne,
I remember from my time in NZ that folks really got out and enjoyed nature on their time off and holidays. I thought that was so great. It is the same here in Montana. Thanks for sharing about the flower that blooms once every few years. Amazing.

Hi All,

Baruch will agree with me that New Zealand has so much to offer, both sports and beauty. The weather is mild.

I am Glad Reader will enjoyed the South island. South island has its scenic beauty, but North Island has much to offer too.

Tammie, did you visit the whole country?

M. Kate, the weather in December and January is very warm. Many people from Malaysia and Singapore love the cool crisp weather, and we have long daylight.

SeethroughGreen, I guess escaping the cold Canada in Winter is the best time to you. Tourists have commented that New Zealand has everything in a small bottle. You can do everything in three weeks. Back packing is popular with young people. We can work out your plans.

Like Baruch doing his bit for Auckland, I have been promoting my adopted country.

Welcome to New Zealand.

Cheers,

Ann

Ann, I might not have expressed myself properly when I said Aloes flower in April. Some do and some do later on, I think most of them flower over winter but I am not 100% sure as there are so many varieties and the climate might play a part as well. Anyway, thank you so much for the link. )
The beach is wonderful and the sun has to have a rest as well. ..sometimes!
