Friday My Town Shoot Out May 11: Silhouette
Our theme this week is Silhouetted.
When you shoot your camera toward a bright light
it will expose for that light.
This will leave other objects in the photo underexposed,
often appearing black.
By placing your subject between the light and the camera
you will create a silhouette.
I recall when I was teaching in Binatang Govt school,
one chapter in form 5 text was on Silhouette,
I couldn't pronounce it, and got a Canadian volunteer teacher to coach me
I was such a hopeless student.
I was deperate because I had to teach.
Now I am jinx, I am forever unable to spell this word.
A teacher's nightmare,
that over 30 years, it is still in my head.
But I can take silhouette photos.

Thanks for your tips..will try this out too....Happy Mother's day...(Malaysian one)
I have words in Portugues that I will never be able to pronounce and surely never spell - love the light through the pines, nice cool/peaceful feeling.
nice shots Ann. I like the last one with the sun burst, nice!!
Theses are wonderful pictures!!! Recently I have had to spell the word many times, and I still cannot do it and need spell checker! And I am pleased with myself that I have avoided having to spell it here!
I love the silhouettes of the trees. Greetings.
My photo sessions last between 3 to 4 hours.
Outstanding work. Thanks for sharing your talent and insight.
Trees make such lovely silhouettes! And I like the one with the sun burst, too.
I love the second picture - silhouette is a hard word to spell.
You've got some great shots here! I like the trees as well. And I can't spell shiloowet either.
I love the trees.
