The Pohutukawa tree flowers around Christmas time with beautiful red flowers. This is wny it is called the New Zealand Christmas tree. The tree is native, and you are not allowed to cut it down.
This tree is a mature tree. The other tree I mentioned in my post that our home group used in our Church Christmas decoration contest resurfaced again during th ESOL Christmas night as a slightly bigger tree.
