Making a feather pencil

On Teachers' day, my school gave us a feathered pencil. I think it was a chicken feather because it was dyed nicely.

When I went to Western Springs and saw all the feathers lying around, it gave me an idea of giving my children in school feathered pencils.

Alas, these were geese and duck feathers and they were water proved, making the dying very difficult.

Eventually I gave up, and gave the kids natural coloured ones. The kids loved it making it. They were very proud that they were among the few kids who have a feathered pencil. You see, only special kids come to my room.

***I experimented dying a feather, using a dropper. The colour is not very good. You can imagine how it looks like.***
