My world Tuesday: Silo

http://showyourworld.blogspot.com/

In Auckland, I don't see any grain silo. But there are many concrete silos. Talk of the concrete jungle. I used to drive past on the bridge to the airport and tried to take photos, but the photos were not good.

Last Sunday, when I walked across the new bridge, I made good use of the opportunity to snap photos when I stood still on the bridge. The silos are on the other side of the old bridge which is still in used.

Hi Ann

Haven't seen the word SILO since school days!!

When I taught English and very little geography many of the geographical terms were lost...Nice to see that lovely picture!!

That's an excellent shot. The silo almost looks like modern art the way you photographed it.

If this is in the middle of a big city and doesn't hold grain, what is this for?

Not too many silos around here either.

We have grain silos everywhere, but not these concrete ones. They look like they manufacture something. Maybe a milk dairy? It is a very good shot, these can be hard to snap because they are often right on a busy highway.

it's nice that something so utilitarian can be part of so lovely a photo.
