Persian New Year.

Nowrūz (Persianنوروز‎, IPA: [nouˈɾuːz], meaning "[The] New Day") is the name of the Iranian/Persian New Year[15] in Iranian calendarsand the corresponding traditional celebrations.[16] Nowruz is also widely referred to as the "Persian New Year"

Nowruz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in the Iranian calendar. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical Northward equinox, which usually occurs on March 21

My Iranian Student Shadi Shahabi tells me that it is their tradition to jump over fire on their Persian New Year. Shadi Shahabi
