In Sarawak, these used to be called North Borneo Orchid. North Borneo is now known as Sabah. Apparently, the original ones came from Mt Kinabalu, the highest Mountain Peak in South East Asia.
Dad used to grow the the completely white, and was his favourite. We have so many stories, but that will have to leave for another post.
