Year of the Ox 3

Teachers.

These two characters are Chinese writing for Ox. The bottom is the very old method of writing where it is taken from the shape of the Ox. The other is the modern writing. The decorative round disc were coins of the olden days. They have a hole to string them together.

I am embarassed that my Chinese is very poor, and I didn't pay attention to my Chinese teachers. The libarian told us today to remember pronouncing the word ox NIU as though it is New. Close enough.
