YMCA Mt Albert

This may look like a church to you, especially with the cross in front. It is YMCA and also Mt Albert War Memorial. It is at New North Road, and just across is the Mt Albert Baptist Church.

I have an interesting experience in this building. I met the now Prime Minister John Key here in a National Party function. He was still the opposition party leader. My friend J invited us to a dinner and told us to be open and see what he had to say. Mt Albert was Helen Clarke's strong hold and John Key was intruducing his party Candidate Ravi Musuku.

Of course, Helen Clarke lost the Government though she still holds on to her Mt Albert seat.
