ABC WED Letter M for Marae

This little Marae was some little girl's doll's house. When the Marae at Bastion point was burnt, The girl donated her doll's house.  The Marae is a traditional meeting place for the Maori people of New Zealand.

Ann,

Am I understanding correctly, the little building that you're posed in front of is a child's doll house? Or is it a child's playhouse? Thanks for sharing what a Marae is which I had no clue nor have I heard the word before now. I feel a little smarter. :) Have a marvelous day!

Hi Cathy,

Sorry for so late. I went abroad, and changed my routine because I got sick. This Marea has a heart warming story. Yes, a marea is a structure used by the maoris (New Zealand natives.)for their meeting house. Some are very big.
In this particular one, there was a fire in the old Marea. This girl gifted her playhouse to be used as a Marea. I will write more about it.

Thanks,

Ann
