FSO: High N Low, Auckland Sky Tower

This structure is the Auckland Sky Tower. It is the tallest in the Southern Hemipshere. When you pay to go high up the viewing floor, or have a meal there, you can look down below, low low down.

The elevator was a transparent bubble, you can look out or look down.

We were up the main observation level of the Sky Tower. We were up 192 meters and had a 360 degrees panoramic view of Auckland city. The tower is 328 metres, and is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand and offers breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometres in every direction.

We traveled very quickly in a glass floor elevator, and felt the air pressure as I went down. I have been to the Empire State Building ans the New York Twin Towers, and I don't remember the pressure in my ears. May be I ate too much in the restaurant, and I was being punished for being a glutton.

White I went round the rim, parts of the floor were transparent plastic. Some of the visitors did not dare to walk over it. Some kids jump on it much ti the horror of other grown ups. When I was walking on it, naturally, I put my hands on the inside rail.

Fascinating, Ann! Nothing for me, as I suffer from acrophobia, even if I knew that the floor was as strong as concrete.
You asked if I cooked food in a Dutch oven. Well I hardly use the oven. I love Indonesian and Chinese food, as I was raised in Indonesia. I also like Italian pastas and Dutch food. I like everything as long as it is healthy, clean and tasty.

The Sky Tower is perfect for high and low, Ann. The photos I took from up there were rushed and lousy - I dared not take my eyes off my young grandchildren who, yes, wanted to jump up and down on the clear bit.

Very lovely tower. Imagine - we lived in New York City and I never ever had the desire to go up in the Empire State Building - maybe being pregnant during the year we lived there had something to do with it, lol!

So which of the three buildings you mention is the tallest? I think you have a thing for danger! If I ate there I would surely throw up, or should I say down! So they have cooks and others who work there every day, yikes!!

I would love to visit this place! Have you been to Marina Bay Sand Sky park? there's an infinity pool there, with the viewing deck open to public at a cost. It's on the the 57th storey of the building.

Oh wow, I don't think I could look down. Reminds me of the glass bottom boats we took on the reeds in Bermuda.

A perfect shoot for this week's theme. I would love to tred on those thick as concrete glass floors. Looking down the elevator seems really weird with that strange white light...

That is also very tall. The tallest tower I have been is the tower in Niagara Falls, Canada. The food is good and the view is awesome. Love your shot Ann. Happy weekend.

I think you are decidedly brave to even go up there, I always use the stairs in any building I visit. Mind you the buildings I use are very much smaller, highest I've been is floor 13! Lovely photos.

A great illustration of the theme. I'm glad they had the notice about the thickness of the glass!

I'm sure the view from the top must be magnificent, but in the elevator I'd probably keep my eyes closed...

What a great place to view the city and I would enjoy the view down through the glass floor.
We are off soon to spend a week caring for Michael while his parents get a well deserved vacation in Seattle, a city with similar tower though the base of the space needle is not solid as this sky tower.

Oh I would love to see the views from that tower. Even the views through the glas although I would get some butterflies standing on it.
