Save the world: The sausage sizzle.
The quintessential fund raiser of New Zealand, the sausage sizzle. In schools, clubs, sports clubs, events practice, and outside shopping centre. Volunteers barbecue these sausage with a slice of bread, tomato sauce or not. Some have fried onions. Yum!!!!!
In Pt Chevalier school, volunteer parents come every Thursday to BBQ these sausage sizzles and raise funds for the school. Ka pai and paki paki.

I have often wondered when the western sausage came to Sibu. I remember we always could buy the Chinese sausage or lapcheong for the Chinese New Year. I am trying to remember my first sausage cooked at home...now it is a common food the world over...Bless all the parents who raise funds for schools!!
May be over here we should do Nasi Lemak Day...
Used to love sausages of all kinds!! Good fundraiser! Around here they use 'hot-dog buns' rather than a slice of bread!
Happy New Year Ann! Bless you all for raising funds in this way. We have the obequitous "boerewors roll" sold at fairs, school fetes and in the city streets. Boerewors is a spicy farmer's sausage, own to South Africa and we can buy it here in Kenya much to my hubby's delight!I'm astounded that the food program you watched, allowed that women to serve such revolting food. Surely the cameras followed her cooking this awful dish. Hope you have a wonderful and happy 2012. Blessings, Jo
