My brilliant nephew: Jacob Chan

The cool and handsome one, he's my nephew.

My brother Joseph's son Jacob is going to compete in the State (Queensland, Australia) Championship in October.

He and his team beat all the top schools yesterday. He got two medals. One for winning and one for being the best player in the championship team.

Jacob you are awesome! if you were in New Zealand, your teacher will tell you to Paki Paki your back. (Paki Paki means clap.)

If you think this story is familiar , you are right. You read about him before.

Last night he had to finish his assignment on Matthew Flinders. A dice game he had to create over a map of Australia. Mum said that he would fail because he did not follow instructions. In the end I had to very gently coach him just to follow the instructions with encouragement. He finished at 10.30 p.m. after a long day at chess. He did not want me to help him to improve it.

Jacob's Dad.

So he is a chess genius!!!! Must be very smart for that. Phil is a rated player and has many trophies and teaches chess to elementary school kids now. I know he would just love to meet Jacob and talk with him and play with him. Keep us posted on his progress, he already has so many medals for such a young boy! You all have a lot to be proud of!

How clever your nephew is! I love playing chess, but never played in a tournament. It's a great game.

Thanks for your visit. Mark Twain has written many quotations. There are more bloggers who use them.

What a great looking bunch of kids and obviously very smart, too. I wish your nephew all the best during these competitions. He already is a champion to have gotten this far. :)
