FSO: Lawn Tools

>

Here is my friendly mower. He was mowing my lawn when I came home from work. I asked if I could take his photo, and he obliged. Then he asked me why I wanted his photo. I wanted to be cheeky and say I wanted to make him the most famous mower in the world. But I just smiled, I have to be careful with what I say.

In fields where it is not even, and swampy in my town of birth, Sibu, in Borneo, many grass cutters use a string trimmer.

No lawn needs to be mowed here, hard to believe my husband mowed last weekend...today the ground is still covered with an inch or so of snow from the other day!

We have an electric mower and two string trimmers. So you have someone who does your yard work? We never seem to have the time, and let it grow too high at times!

So glad we don't have property anymore where we have to do that! So nice to live in an apartment where everything is done for us!

It sure is hot work in summer. My man comes every 2 weeks. Costs me a fortune but BB can't do it because of his heart condition and I find it too hard to push up the steep hill around our house. I used to when I was younger.

It's a hard work taking care of lawns, I'm just glad I don't have a lawn/garden. My late grandma used to have a big lawn in-front of her kampung house,my late uncles used to spend whole day cutting the grass using a lawn mower. Mind you it's a very big lawn! but when it rained, it became a very big 'swimming pool' to us!! lol

My husband had 2 lawnmover, a huge one and a mini one. When he bought it, he said he will mow the lawn...but it had been used only twice and after collecting dusts for so long...i told him to give it away. its clogging space in the store room! so now, we have a Bangladeshi guy to comes once a month...happy thanksgiving :)

Great shoot. I am really impressed that some of your lawn tools have people attached to them! I wish I had that luxury!

Wow, I forgot to post my yardman who comes once a year to trim all the hedges. His name is Purple, why he is called that I have no idea. I am like Karin I wish we lived in a condo or townhouse.Great post.

The gardening season is over here. It will be snow plows next, but for now it is just raining, so none of those about either.

It's interesting to see that yard tools are pretty much the same all over the world....ie..mowers. It's also neat to see the differences in hand tools. Nice shootout, Ann.

I once enquired about having a man come and mow my lawn for me but he said he'd have to charge the usual fee plus travel mileage to get here. Then my doctor told me it is great exercise, to keep doing it myself.
