save the world: Have a garage sale

http://reducefootprints.blogspot.com/

My friends in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore are doing their part to save the world. They are holding a massive garage sale. Ka Pai to Xiaoqing for organising this.

Dear residents,

The garage sale :23 May(Sunday).

Everyone is welcome to join the event. Other than the coffee morning, this event is also a way of meeting your neighbours.

When: 9 am -11.30 am on 23 May (Sunday)
Where: The playground between block.100 and block.102 Nanyang Meadows
Why: Improve the usage of resources, save our earth

It is the time of the year for housekeeping again. Things that you don’t need could be useful to others!
居民们,又到了清理家居的时候了。对你们来说无用的东西可能是对别人有用的物品。让我们物尽其用,节约资源。请参加庭院旧货售卖活动。
Sellers : Be at the playground by 8.45am to set up. You choose your own corner and manage your own stall.
No noise pollution during the sale and please clear the place thoroughly after the sale is over.

For any further enquiries call Xiaoqing or email at huangxiaoqing

Garage sales are so common in the West and I love the thought of it. Getting rid of unwanted things the eco-friendly way. Can you imagine if I have one in my house, my neighbours will think I've gone bankrupt ahaha! I do wish we have them, or someone start them..or maybe me :)

Garage sales are not popular here, maybe we have to call it a charity sale to get some response.

I love the whole idea of a garage sale ... usable items being "put on the market" and given a new life! Anything that keeps stuff out of a landfill is a very good thing!

Have a great day!
