Outdoor Wednesday: Cross Country Run

http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com

The sky smiled on our school today. It is our annual cross country run for all 660 school kids. Yesterday, it was raining cats and dogs. Tomorrow and the rest of the week end, we brace ourselves for heavy rain and strong gale.

It was very dark when we were walking to Coyle's Park. But the sun tried it's utmost to peek out of the thick clouds. She saw the little kids, and pitied them if it rained. The day turned out a glorious day.

Many parents, grand parents, aunties and uncles and siblings turned up to support our kids.

The kids trained and ran very hard. My Austrian and China students tell me that this is a new experience for them. They don't have cross country run in their home country.

I normally post Outdoor Wednesday on my other site.http://ann-mythoughtsandphotos.blogspot.com/. I am swapping over here.

I enjoyed these photos - the sky and all the people. How far do the children run? We used to have 'field day' games in Nevada, US but only once did I have a school run - when I lived in Spain and I cannot remember how far we ran. Seemed long though!
