My dad's 80th birthday.
In 2005, we all went back to our land of birth to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. The entourage of his offsprings was fifty. We came back from Australia, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur.
It was good to see our relatives and friends of our parents. We had a good time. We serenaded to Dad.
There was a tinge of sadness, Mum had died in 1988, and realistically, Dad had lived to four scores. It would be greedy to ask for another party at his 90th.
In 2006, he went home to meet his maker and Mum.
To make this bitter sweet, Dad died on Mum's aniversary exactly 18 years later, on the 18th of February 2006. What a great love story.
***The Chinese have a saying among sworn brothers or spouses, "if we can't be born on the same day, let us die on the same day."
