Pohutukawa Tree is also called the New Zealand Christmas Tree.
During the Southern summer, especially in December, Pohutukawa flowers are bright red, giving it a red hue covering the tree, hence its common name: the New Zealand Christmas Tree. This is a native tree.
In some home, people opt for this red tree instead of a plastic tree. One year, my home group decorated a pohutukawa tree for our church Chritmas decoration competition.
