Peace Day Parade

The children of today are bombasted by news on television about war in Iraq, 9-11, Kenya and so on. Life can be very frightening when it is "in your face."

Our neighbouring kindergarten held their Peacefully LOUD Peace day parade last Friday. The children all dressed up, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties and siblings and babies in push chairs and prams. They marched round the block along our fence. There were drums, flutes, brass band.

My school was invited to cheer them on. I was there with my children, we Hi-5 them cheered and clapped.

What an invaluable lesson for the littlies. What a befitting way to celebrate 100 Years of education. (1908-2008)
