Chinese New Year Day is on January 26, 2009.
On Chinese New Year, the older generation likes you to wear red. The biggest Faux pas is wearing black as it signifies death. Some young girls think they are modern, and insist on wearing black when they go BAI NIEN, visiting to pay respects.
I would never do that, I may not believe in this, but the older people do. It is not good offending them. If, in the event that a death does occur, the bereaved family and friends and relatives will blame you.
