Australia: The red continent 6

A long jetty to send the mineral ore to the ship.

If this was a passenger ship, what a loooong sad walk back to the land after saying goodbye to a loved one.

Dad told us that when he left London in 1958 by P & O liner back to Sarawak, the English people gave a big send off to the passengers. It was like a big party. The passengers were given streamers to throw down the wharf. It was a sight he won't forget.

These recent pix of Australia were taken by the water engineer on his Walkabout. You might have guessed by the theme of the pix.
